Get Unstuck
Are you stuck? Does change seem out of reach? Do you feel like life happens to you instead of for you?
Me too. I feel like this most days and have for too long. As a wife and mother, I believed my responsibility was to put caring for others ahead of caring for myself. My focus was on doing for others.
I ignored my spiritual, emotional, and physical health. I lost touch with who I am, what I value, and what I want out of life.
However, ignoring myself didn’t mean that my desires disappeared. It just transformed them into these feelings of being stuck.
I feel stuck in my efforts to lose weight because I don’t remember the difference between physical hunger and emotional/spiritual hunger.
I feel stuck in my career because I forgot my vision.
I feel stuck in my relationships because I lost touch with my values.
Can you relate?
Here’s a practice helping me transform from feeling stuck to moving forward.
Get Curious: Why am I feeling stuck?
Am I living in alignment with my vision, my values, and my purpose?
What am I doing daily to connect with my body, mind, and spirit?
What are the consequences of staying stuck?
Get Creative: How can I get unstuck?
What has worked before to get unstuck?
Imagine my young adult self. What would she do to get unstuck?
Get Active: How can I move forward?
Give yourself 5 minutes to play – dance, sing, draw, or anything you enjoy. Even short bursts of creative activity can help you break a thought pattern.
What is one change I will make today to help life happen for me instead of to me?
I am not 100% sure what my vision, values, and purpose are yet, but they are emerging. Daily meditation, journaling, and Reiki practice are helping me reconnect with myself. If I stay stuck, I’m going to miss out on experiences, relationships, and happiness.
In the past, I leaned into my intuition. Young Lisa would listen to her gut and take the next right step.
I created a custom daily planner to help me prioritize how I spend my time. This was a creative activity that will also help life happen for me instead of to me. Additionally, I tried a new essential oil blend that is inspiring and invigorating.
